Watch Dogs ctOS Companion app

ctOS Mobile[1] is a free smartphone application for iOS and Android phones and tablets. The app will be released alongside the main game.

Description

The software plays into a competitive multiplayer mode focused on "fast-paced challenges." The companion app works through Ubisoft’s digital platform Uplay, running through the publisher's servers, thus Mobile players do not need to own the retail game to operate the app.[2] Players with the app will be able to connect to gaming sessions and hack the city's elements in a similar fashion to the Profiler in-game. The player with the touchscreen—which offers a top-down view of the world map—is launching an array of forces at a single player using a gamepad.
The mobile player must send an invite to a console player on their friends list. The more chaos and mayhem the console player causes, the more attacks unlock for the mobile player. At the end of the challenge, both players receive currency and XP
The CTOS Companion app since launch has been plagued with server and connectivity problems. Making it almost impossible to play an actual role in the game. The frustration of many users is well document on the internet.

Abilities

Players will be able to:
Control dynamic objects (e.g. blockers, traffic lights etc)
Tools will also be available for elements that are not color-coded in blue;
Lockout the controls of vehicles that include electronics, such as the Police Helicopter
Trivia Edit
Watch Dogs is one of three Ubisoft games to have integration with companion apps on smartphones and tablets.
